Our objective is realized by assisting active-duty service members, veterans, and their partners through our internal recruitment procedures, as well as fostering initiatives to promote career pathways with AIG for these groups.

An example of such an initiative is our work with FourBlock, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting returning service members in their transition from military service to meaningful civilian careers.

Veterans Leadership Network Employee Resource Group

Once at AIG, veterans may find support through our Veterans Leadership Network Employee Resource Group, which aims to educate and support veterans within AIG to assist them in a successful transition to their civilian careers while fostering awareness of veterans’ initiatives worldwide. Through community outreach programs, networking, fundraising, and education, the group honors the service of men and women in arms by increasing employment opportunities within AIG, raising funds for select veterans’ organizations, and providing professional service training and assistance.

Using Military Lessons to Lead her Team

Sharon Primerano uses her military experience in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to help shape the way she leads her team today. These valuable lessons include: setting expectations, encouraging teamwork and collaboration, and staying calm in difficult situations.

Transitioning Military Skills to the Corporate Environment

Nicholas Harkness was introduced to AIG through FourBlock while serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines Corps. He transitioned his military skill set to his Global Security role at AIG, and today, helps keep employees safe around the world.

Supporting Reservists at AIG

Caleb Mueller appreciates the support he received from AIG while serving in the U.S. Army Reserve and working as a talent advisor for the company. In his role, he helps veterans identify available jobs based on their Military Occupational Specialties, giving them the opportunity to grow a career within AIG and benefit from the work-life balance the company offers.

Improving the lives of veterans

Having grown up with a father who served as a U.S. Navy Captain, AIG’s Patricia Fox talks about her pro bono work providing legal assistance to veterans seeking benefits for their service-connected disabilities.
